Selects the type of device connected to the system.

S.M.A.R.T.

The system board supports SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting

echnology) hard drives. SMART is a reliability prediction technology for ATA/

IDE and SCSI drives. The drive will provide sufﬁ cient notice to the system

or user to backup data prior to the drive’s failure. The default is Disabled. If

you are using hard drives that support S.M.A.R.T., set this ﬁ eld to Enabled.

SMART is supported in ATA/33 or later hard drives. The options are Auto, En-

abled and Disabled.
